Umbrella of Love

Mission Statement

Umbrella of Love’s mission is to bring together and raise money for nonprofits that focus on homelessness, addiction and hunger in Athens. We strive to be a role model for other cities, offering our successes and failures as lessons to support them.

About Us

Smileys Umbrella of Love has been created to raise money and awareness. We will work with not against other none profits and Coalitions. This will also include all that are under Umbrella of loves Net.
The main reason we have created our non profit is to bring as many entities together as we can. Many are doing good work but we feel as a collective we can do exponentially better.
Everyone has an idea on how to fix the problem of homelessness, addiction, mental health, disabled, and hunger. Each idea may not be for another person but combined may go towards these issues. We will pull all these together to see what works and what does not. We can combine each together to make each one better.
We strive to find where there is unneeded overlap, and see where money and personnel could be used in a more productive manner. This way people are able to see where resources are going and what people are doing.
We will be using our collected funds to share with our partners under the Umbrella of Love. Along with that it will be used to create awareness of the issues and how people can become a part of this. Whether it be money or time they will feel they are being a part of the solution.
These are a few of our many ideas of what the Umbrella of Love can be and where it can best serve. Smiley's Unique Entertainment along with partners will put on fundraising events and auctions.
Smiley's Foundation of Smiles and Umbrella of Love will raise funds for itself and charities. We will not ask charities or entities to raise funds unless it is a coordinated event. We want to do and create things that enhance our partner charities and public entities.
Umbrella of Love will be street level and do research from the streets. We will share results and ideas with all partners and work together on all solutions. We look to work with all parts of the issues from 1st responders, Government, behavioral centers, mental health professionals shelters and more to see where issues are. We will look to find the cracks. Find waste, fraud and abuse. Where money and personnel can best be used. We will create housing, shelter, street, addiction, hunger, abuse and more plans in concert with entities that are currently working these issues.
We have a plan to get every business involved even in the tiniest way. Everyone can then feel they are doing their part.
